Trucking is an exhausting job and it’s not uncommon that day cab truck owners find themselves needing to take a quick nap to stay fresh out on the road. However, sleeping in a day cab isn’t always easy so we’ve put together a few tips to help you get some good shut-eye in between stops.

Hammock

A hammock is one of the easiest and most affordable ways to sleep comfortably in a day bed truck! A hammock is lightweight and easy to store and provides a comfortable sleeping option for even the largest of truckers. To set everything up you can purchase two D-ring anchors and a pair of hooks or carabiners. Attach the anchors to the wall of the truck and use the hooks to easily set up and take down your hammock whenever you please

DIY Seat Board

If you’re feeling crafty you can stop by your local craft store and grab some particle board and foam padding to turn into a seat board. Simply place the foam padding on top of the board (you can also glue it down if you like) and cover it with some fabric. This can easily be done with adhesive velcro or even some safety pins. Your board can easily be stored behind your seats and laid out whenever you’re in need of a quick break.

Conversion Kits

If you’re interested in having your day cab truck outfitted with a permanent sleeping area your best option is to purchase a conversion kit. While the price of these kits is high, your sleeping area would be as comfortable and convenient as those found in sleeper trucks. This is a great option if you’re not interested in or can’t afford a new vehicle.
